The ISUOG team was eager to meet the trainees on Monday and by their reaction, so were they! The trainees were happy to see Ann and Dario again from last time, and warmly welcomed the new trainers, asking them questions on where they were from and whether this was their first time in Ghana.
Soon after introductions were made, our host Abenaa from MCI gave a welcome speech and the lectures began.
Ann, Dario, Karen and Tony took turns giving lectures, and Christian and Nayana carried out live demonstrations on four obstetrics cases – one lady was pregnant with her third set of twins! The lecture room was right next to the family planning clinic, and we all got to see some very cute Ghanaian babies with their moms.
It was a long but productive day at Kumasi South Hospital, and we finished it off with a giant Chinese dinner at the hotel restaurant – Dario’s favourite!
